My name is Duncan and as you can see, I am one sweet, fluffy, loveable kitty. I love being held and petted (don’t you agree that snuggling is the best thing around?). I’ve got beautiful green eyes and rich, thick, tortoise colored fur (the kind that was made for snuggling). And to be honest, well, these photos just do not do me justice – I am really handsome (well, that’s what everyone tells me!). I’m so mellow I practically fell asleep at the vet’s! I get along great with other kitties and dogs are OK, too, though I prefer smaller dogs – I’m a bit hesitant around large dogs. I am about six years old and a big guy at almost 11 pounds. I am up to date with my shots, neutered, tested negative and am ready for snuggling!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duncan, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
