My name is Flower. Flowers are pretty, don’t you think? I’m pretty, too, with my long beautiful calico fur and fun inquisitive face. I’m also sweet and love having my tummy rubbed and being groomed. I’ll even make happy chirping noises to let you know. Another thing I like is being picked up and held and will happily hang out in your arms as long as you want to hold (and pet!) me. I’m a youngster at 2-3 years of age and have had my front paws declawed. I’ve been spayed and am up to date on all my shots. I am at the Nine Lives Foundation in Redwood City so if you’d like more information on me, visit www.ninelivesfoundation.org or call 650-368-1365.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Flower, a Oakland Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
