Buffy's Story...
Hi! My name is Buffy and, before you ask, no I am not a vampire slayer. Heck, I’m not even a girl! I’m a big buff-colored (get it?) boy with a gorgeous plume of a tail and aquamarine-colored eyes.
I was rescued from a park where I’d been abandoned but I haven’t let it get me down. No sirree. I love people and love hanging out with people and being a best friend kind of guy who just wants to be wherever you are. I’m big on the TLC (giving and taking) and eager to please and happy to spend my days hanging out while everybody watches TV or taking a cat nap or basking in a beautiful sun beam.
I’m probably okay with another kitty and possibly even a cat-friendly dog. I am 2-3 years of age, have been neutered, tested negative, microchipped and am up to date on all my shots. If you’d like more information or to meet me, contact Judith at (510) 653-2345 or

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buffy, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
