Nigel's Story...
Well, hello there! My name is Nigel. Any of you “Spinal Tap” fans out there may remember it was the name of one of the members of the band. Cool, huh? I’m super cool, too. I’m also sweet, calm and cuddly. I LOVE getting my head rubbed! And look at my gorgeous markings and stunning eyeliner-lined Maine Coon eyes! How’s that for a cool combination? I’m such a total love I’m sure to make everyone in my new household very very happy. I do need to be an only kitty because I was tested positive for FIV and would hate to give that to another kitty. But I can still live a very long healthy life and bring so much happiness. I’m 3 years of age and weigh 13 pounds and, I hate to say it (but others have, so I will) –- I’m absolutely gorgeous with a personality to match. See for yourself on my video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEVY2PZGyUM. I have been neutered, microchipped and am up to date on my shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nigel, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
