Sally's Story...
Hi there! Anybody remember the song “Long Tall Sally”? Well, my name is Sally and I’m definitely long and lean at seven pounds (but growing!). I’m just a year and a half old and have beautiful dilute torti looks -- check out the cool markings on my chin and my stunning gold eyes. Gorgeous, huh? I’m a short-haired kitty so while not really a Maine Coon in looks, I am super friendly and super playful and love laps and sleeping right next to you -- so essentially you’ve got a girl with a fabulous Maine Coon personality without all that FUR. Oh, and I love to watch the computer screen when you type on the keyboard – all those little figures that come up on it are pretty fun! I have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots. So what are you waiting for? Come get me! If you’d like to see me in action, check out my video at and here’s me again at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sally, a Oakland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
