Apollo's Story...
Hi there. My name is Apollo. In case you’re not up on your Greek mythology, Apollo was one of the most important of deities. That’s probably why they named the space capsule after him and that character in the “Rocky” movies – and ME. I think I’m a pretty important guy myself. I’m about five years old and was given up by my owners when they moved. Bummer, huh? But I haven’t let it get me down. I’m very mellow and super affectionate and responsive (will even do the “making biscuits” with my paws and showing my tummy when you speak to me!). I adapt quickly to new environments and am just a super neat guy with big green eyes and a long lean frame (that will need to gain some weight). Oh, and I almost forgot, I LOVE catnip. Anyway, I’m neutered, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots. Check me out in action on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fncCE7qYt1c

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Apollo, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
