Boston's Story...

Hi there! My name is Boston. You know, as in “Boston Baked Beans” or the “Boston Red Sox” or that mondo cool band, “Boston” from the 1970s that you're probably too young to remember. Anyway, this Boston is a gorgeous Ragdoll mix (in case you're not up on your breeds, we're very similar to Maine Coons in that we're laid-back, mellow, happy kinda guys).  I'm four years old and have gorgeous blue eyes and weigh almost 15 pounds (I need to cut back one of these days…). I love to be brushed and purr a lot and love laps. Like I said, I'm a laid-back, mellow, happy kinda guy. Look at my stunning blue eyes and my long, silky fur—just petting me is a really relaxing experience.  See just how much I love brushing on my video at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiU1HBbVuus I do need to be an only kitty.  I have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boston, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
