Penny Lane's Story...
“Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.” Isn’t that nice? It’s from a Beatles song but I am kind of thinking that once you meet this Penny Lane (that’s me!) you’ll find I’m in your ears and your eyes as well. That’s because first of all, I am a gorgeous girl, with a huge tail and a beautiful face. I am about two years of age and was adopted as a kitten, but the lady was scary, so I spent a lot of time hiding under a bed. Now I am out of there and learning that people can be nice and kind, and I LOVE petting – but I just get really nervous when I am around people…so will need a patient family who will give me a lot of time to warm up. You can see from my photo how I love playing with toys, and I really like other kitties too. I also love to sit and sleep in baskets, kitty beds, anything warm and cozy. It makes sense with the rough time I had when I was little! I weigh about 10 pounds, have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny Lane, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
