Mr. Mittens's Story...

Hi everyone, my name is Mr. Mittens, and I’m a seal point Ragdoll with very cute little white mittens. Like Maine Coons, Ragdolls have a great easy-going temperament, and we have the characteristic that if you pick us up, we go limp - just like a real rag doll. That means you can put me on your lap or hold me in your arms, and I won’t complain... in fact, I’ll probably purr even more loudly! I’m a really good natured, gentle guy; I get on fine with other cats, and I’d sooner sit on your lap (or your bed) and get some lovin’ than tire myself out chasing toys. And, as you can see from my photo of helping myself to the bag of cat food, I am curious, determined and have a good appetite! I’m ten to twelve years old, 10 lbs (of pure lovin’), up to date with all my shots, and the vet says I’m in great shape with my liver, kidney and thyroid levels checked, and yes, I’ve got one eye - but just look at its gorgeous baby blue color! And, I can see just fine out of it! What are you waiting for? It’s time to give this lover boy a home! Have a look at me in action in my video at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Mittens, a Oakland Ragdoll cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Ragdoll for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Ragdoll cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Ragdoll breeders who help with Ragdoll rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
