Autumn's Story...

My name is Autumn, which a lot of people think is the prettiest time of the year, with the leaves on the trees turning all sorts of gorgeous colors. As you can see, I have the same gorgeous coloring on me, with my beautiful tortie face and gorgeous hues of orange, gold, brown and black trickling through my coat. And I’m as sweet as I look. But I’m also very shy. I’m only two years old but did not get enough good socialization as I was growing up so I will need a very patient and quiet family who will work with me (with MCA guidance and tips) to help me learn to trust humans. I’m dying for affection and enjoy watching other kitties being played with and getting petted -- and sometimes even allowing my foster mom to pet me. I’m sure with the right time and attention I will be a wonderful companion. I like other kitties and weigh 10 pounds, have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative, and am up to date on all my shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Autumn, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
