Samantha-URGENT's Story...

Hi there. My name is Samantha and I’m a sweet girl who’s unfortunately had a tough time lately. I ended up in a shelter after an accident that left me with a broken leg and barely a tail. I was fixed up by a kind vet but was left with a bit of damage to my spinal cord. I can still walk but I am fecal and urinary incontinent. Naturally, this means I can’t be an indoor kitty or even in a neighborhood where I might wander in to people’s houses (I’m REALLY friendly) but need a safe outdoor environment - maybe somewhere out in the country. I’m very sweet and affectionate and get along with other cats and even dogs and, again, just love saying hi to people. The vet who’s been taking care of me likes me so much she has offered free medical care, food and even some Urine Off (just in case) if there’s a kind soul out there who can help me find a suitable place to live.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Samantha-URGENT, a Oakland Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
