Missy's Story...

My name is Missy. As in, “Hey there, little Missy, what are you up to?” Usually my response - and it will be true - will be “Not much.” You see, I’m a beautiful girl and mostly enjoy lying around being petted. I mean, look at me, I’m gorgeous, right? And I’ve got a fabulous coat of fur that you’re just going to want to pet all the time. And I will enjoy that. I’m nine years old and in great shape (liver, kidney and thyroid were all tested). I may be a little on the “zoftig” (healthily plump) side at 13 pounds, but I think it suits me, don’t you? I am looking for a new home because my family lost theirs and was unable to keep me. I’m very sweet and fine with other kitties and would make an ideal companion. I have been spayed, microchipped, tested negative and am up to date on all my shots. See me in all my fluffy beauty on my video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmaMpbBXwyE

Other Pets at Maine Coon Adoptions

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Oakland Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
