My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Avery. I like to spice things up, just like my namesake Avery Island where Tabasco is made! And I’m heartworm negative! Bam! Take it up a notch! Avery is a salesman's sample Labrador (mix): diminutive and perfectly proportioned. Her lustrous, low shed coat is tar black and shiny, like the last licorice jellybean buried in the bottom of the Easter basket. She is gregarious and likes to be close to people, but does not cover her companions like a blanket. Avery is not a high energy girl- her movements are deliberate, controlled and well suited to life indoors, where she is housebroken and well mannered. Not a demanding dog, Avery graciously accepts whatever life offers her, though she does enjoy the occasional crispy gingersnap washed back with the foam from a café au lait. And don’t be surprised if she drops a ball in your lap. Fetch is her favorite game which is easy to tell because her tail happily begins to wag when you pick it up!

You can meet, 2 yr old, Avery at the FOTA Adoption House, 8476 Highland Road, or text (225) 205-9330, for more information.

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.
