My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our Topper is just the cutest thing. We were told he is a Border Collie/Lab mix, but with his little short legs he looks more like a furry slinky.

This little guy has had a bit of a rough life for a puppy so far. His owner was in poor health and was not able to take care of him and play with him. Mostly Topper lived in a kennel outside. His first taste of freedom (running around with other dogs in a large grassy backyard) was enough to bring tears to you eyes. He is such a sweet boy and so grateful for affection. When Topper was given a toy he looked like it was the first one he had ever seen, and he didn't want to take his paws off of it. With the attention he deserves, Topper is going to make someone the most loving, loyal companion they could hope for.

Because he spent so long outside, house training is a work in progress. Because he loves free running (and who wouldn't after spending the first 8 months of his life in a tiny kennel or tied up) a very large yard or open farmland may suit Topper best. While not necessarily a requirement, an owner who loves herding breeds would be a wonderful fit for Topper.
