My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was privileged to spend some time with this sweet girl and what a wonderful disposition! Based on the fact that she is blind I thought she would be timid and scared. But her tail was wagging from the moment we got there to the time we left. She was so curious and explored around the yard at her will. Her hearing is great and she perks up if she hears your footsteps or your voice. I brought a squeaky toy with me as well and that was a big hit! She loved to be scratched and you could tell she hadn't felt that much love and attention in a while. Autumn had a bath and some good brushing and she is absolutely sparkling. She has nice teeth, no grey on that face, and is so full of life and love. Do you have a warm bed for her to rest her head upon?
Autumn went to a foster home and settled in within a few hours. She learned quickly how to navigate her new physical surroundings and comes to you when called. Autumn prefers to sleep in her human brother's bed at night and leaves the couch to Boncuk, her tiny canine buddy. Boncuk is a fragile 16 yr old mini poodle mix who graciously accepted Autumn into his house and Autumn has responded with tenderness and respect toward the little old guy.

Autumn lets her foster mom know when she needs to go outside by standing at the door and patiently waiting for the leash to be put on. Then without any pulling she walks along the pavement toward her favorite potty spot. She loves to saunter along smelling the grass and plants and welcomes a meeting with another canine. If her mom wants to extend the walk, Autumn is up for it. She is a people dog and readily welcomes strangers. Not intrusive or demanding, if she sees her mom busy with a task, Autumn will lay down on her dog bed or go out to the patio for a little sunshine. She is confident and calm when left alone and has had no accidents. Autumn could be mixed with golden retriever, her sunny, sweet personality certainly suggests that.

Today Autumn met a 4 month old puppy on her walk and joined in the playful antics and let the puppy climb and nibble on her. Soon Autumn will be joining her foster mom on invigorating walks along the beachfront happily meeting all the other dogs.
