Kenji's Story...
Kenji found himself facing homelessness, after the people who used him to breed, were evicted from their property. Our foster family found out about the situation and contacted us. He is about 7years old, and weighs about 12 pounds. We named him Kenji because he has a serious look about him, and in Japanese it means studious. He gets along fabulous with other dogs, and currently lives on a farm with chickens, pigs, and other farm animals. He is potty trained. He may be a bit shy and a tad slow to warm up, but it doesn't take him long to come around. He is a lovely dog and is going to make someone very happy. He will be getting groomed, so when you meet him, he won't have all that hair!!

As part of your adoption package, each dog will be fully vaccinated (Da2PP, Rabies), have a microchip, and be spayed/neutered. Each dog will be heartworm tested, and your will receive 6 mths of preventative medication. You will receive a free bag of premium dog food, and if you live in the designated zip codes, you will also receive a $25 gift card from Choice Pet Market. You will also be entitled to 2-4 training classes with our trainers, depending on the dog's age. If the dog is not spayed or neutered at time of adoption, you will be required to transport the dog to and from the drop off point for surgery.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kenji, a Chandler Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Chandler, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Chandler.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chandler already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chandler breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chandler paves the way for another one to be saved.
