Marigold's Story...
If roses are red and violets are blue…what color do you think a Marigold is? A little bit of red and a little bit of blue? You see, my beautiful coat is stunning shade of golden red, but my heart, it’s feeling pretty blue. I’m just so lonely sitting here waiting for you. How about you hurry right in and meet me….let’s turn this blue heart into gold! I promise to be sweet, playful, and will try my hardest to be brave. I’ll get along with your other dogs or your cats, and respectful & sturdy kids will be a blast! I’ll do my very best to learn everything you wanna teach me, and I’ll show off my great crate & house training skills and my ability to sit when asked. I’ll strut my stuff on leash—show the neighborhood what a beautiful girl I am. Oh yeah, take me home and I promise to make you proud! 1 year old-50lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes spay, microchip, reduced-cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marigold, a Portland German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
