Shades's Story...
***Courtesy Listing***
Howdy, my name is Shades! I’m a fun loving… and did I mention handsome, 4 year old buff tabby. My sister and I were rescued from Austin, Texas and came to live in Houston with our foster mom. I currently live with ten other cats and an older, female Labrador retriever. I’m very outgoing and energetic. I like to greet new visitors, play chase with my housemates, and supervise activities. My foster parents call me the “bathroom cat”. I like to talk with them while they shower and roll around in the bathtub while they get ready for work. I use this time to soak up plenty of pets and belly rubs. I enjoy curling up and snuggling, especially when Sophie is with me. I met Sophie 3 years ago when she came to live with us and we have been best friends ever since. We spend hours each day just hanging out, kissing, sunbathing or getting into mischief. I am always looking out for her. We are hoping to be adopted together as I fear my heart may break without her. I’m FIV, feline leukemia and parasite free. I’ve been neutered and received all of my initial shots. I need to stay strictly indoors. If you are interested in meeting me, and hopefully my Sophie, please contact my foster mom, Lisa, at lisabeil@hotmail.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shades, a Friendswood Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Friendswood, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Friendswood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Friendswood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Friendswood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Friendswood paves the way for another one to be saved.
