My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ELLA is a 1 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 46 pounds. Ella is very sweet and friendly. Like a typical young Lab, she is very playful and has lots of energy. So training and exercise will be good for her. Ella is good with other dogs. From transporter: Ella is a sweetie! She rode well in the car, took some treats very nicely, and did well on the short time on leash. She has a beautiful face and is a nice smaller size Lab. Ella was a stray who was found by a couple. They had her for several weeks and wanted to keep her, but they had a senior Great Dane who didn’t appreciate Ella’s young age. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update (7/9): Ella has completed her HW rest time after her HW treatment! She is house trained and is quite the couch potato. She is good on the leash except when she sees squirrels! Her favorite outdoor activity is coming back inside! I’ve know dogs to put up the paws and scratch at the door to get out but Ella does it to come in! She is quite happy being in a quiet area and just curling up next to her human. She sleeps next to/on top of me at night. She is a great lap dog and she is so small that she fits! She has just mastered sitting for her treat and food. She has learned to sit for her leash, but staying without jumping while it is put on is something she is still working on. She is so quiet, and sweet and still 98% of the time. Perfect for a single woman who loves labs but doesn’t want a really big dog and who leads a relatively low activity lifestyle.

Update (6/16)Ella is sweet pup who loves petting and enjoys giving out hugs. She seems like she would enjoy pets and belly rubs all day but then again who wouldn’t? She wasn’t too interested in getting in the car but it was a Jeep which is a little harder to get into. Ella was more than happy to let me pick her up and help her in and once she was in the Jeep, she enjoyed the nice breeze. She enjoys meeting people and was fine with another dog that was in the vet office. Ella likes treats and takes them gently. She wears a MEDIUM Easy Walk Harness and should use a harness since she was a bit nervous about the hustle and bustle of city life.

UPDATE (4/29): Ella has been settling into her foster home well. She is a homebody who is most comfortable in her house and fenced yard. She is a wonderful companion who likes to stay close, mostly sleeping or playing quietly by your side. Ella has great house manners and does not need to be crated when left alone. She sleeps through the night on her dog bed surrounded by her favorite toys. Ella is choosy with her friends and would do best as an only dog, or possibly with a small, calm energy dog. Ella is a loving dog who would love to have someone throw toys for her to retrieve and play silly keep-away games.

Update (3/27): Ella is settling into her foster home. She wasn't a fan of the car ride, but she does like the human attention. Ella slept well through the night and went to work with foster mom today. She's taking a nap near her desk. She greeted strangers nicely, but she gets startled with loud noises or sudden movements, so she will need a patient family help her continue to come out of her shell. She's a special girl and we'll keep you posted on her progress. And she loves cheese!
