My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PARKER
4 year old Female Calico Himalayan Ragdoll Mix

We all know calico cats have opinions. Extremely beautiful calico cats may have even more opinions. This amazing girl seems to know she is outrageously beautiful and she loves to have her way and rule over her home. Look how she pouted while being held for her photo shoot. She does not really like to be held though she will tolerate it fairly politely. We held her and held her as she scowled for the photos. She was so cute. "So there!!!” she said. "I am not a stuffed animal to be fussed with and placed this way and that." She is a good hearted little girl but she will try to train you (as any cart should) and she will probably succeed. She is entirely irresistible.

Her breeder (who was having health issues) told me Parker is one eighth Ragdoll. This breeder was trying to breed a Himalayan with a touch of Ragdoll so that the cats she bred would not have runny eyes or fur that matted easily. She pretty much succeeded. And as you can see this girl is breathtakingly beautiful .So soft and silky with her big full coat with its wonderful colors.

So Parker actually has a very sweet and gentle nature. That sweetness is a bit disguised by her calico disdain for anything she is not interested in but it is very much there. She is not a lap cat and prefers not to be held though when she is she will be nice about it and only wiggle some. She loves petting and lots of attention and will come up to be next to you. She wants your company. In the breeder’s home there were too many cats around for her taste. So now she would prefer to be the only cat in the home so she can get all the love and attention you have to offer.

Parker would like a fairly quiet home with no children, other cats or commotion. I am not sure how she is with dogs. I think I was told she likes them. She is not a happy traveler and so she needs a stable home where she can live her life according to her routines and pleasures. Toys, feathers, catnip, sunny windows and lots and lots of flattery are highly valued by her.

What a treasure she is! Someone will be so lucky to have her.

She eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
