Savannah's Story...
Savannah is our longest term kitty here at the shelter. She arrived on 03/16/2015 at about 6 months old. Savannah is a very active cat that does not do well living in a cage, so we had to relocate her to our treatment room to live. She loves chasing toys and the other cat that lives in the room with her (Smokey Mechu, also a longer term resident). Even though Savannah gets along with her roommate she does not seem to keen on having other cats enter the room, she will tolerate them but seems to be happy when they leave. Savannah is not excatly a "lap cat" but she will surely keep you entertained with her antics! Savannah is a water lover! She loves to drink fresh running water from the sink and will let the water get all over her head while doing so, she also loves to play in her water dish! Savannah is looking for a home where she can adventure and play all day (Maybe even with her friend Smokey Mechu?). If you are interested in meeting Savannah please come to the shelter and ask at the front desk to see her, she's waiting!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Savannah, a Chambersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chambersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chambersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chambersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chambersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chambersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
