My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Timmie. I was a wild and crazy guy at about ten weeks old living with a feral colony in Turlock, California. Every evening my colony looked forward to having a nice lady named Natalie come feed us, but once in a while when she would leave one of our members would be missing.
One night I was able to find out what happened to our missing members. Natalie set out a trap baited with food. It smelled so good, I just had to investigate. Then before I knew it - SLAM!! I could not get out.
Natalie loaded me into her car and off we went to her house. Upon arriving there she attempted to transfer me from the trap to a kennel where she could take me into the house to start the socialization process. Needless to say I had other ideas. I escaped from her grasp and began my hide out in the garage.
After two days of searching, Natalie and her roommate decided to take the cars out of the garage to make it easier to look for me. Unbeknownst to them, I had taken refuge in the car’s engine. When the starter was touched, I became entangled in the alternator belt. I let out two blood curdling screams and then went into shock.
With the help of a neighbor, I was extricated from the engine block. But then I ran under the car and wedged myself in the rear wheel well. They jacked up the car to make room between the wheel and car and were able to loosen the death grip I had on the rear tire. By this time I had regained some of my senses and was growling like something out of the "Exorcist". Even my most vicious growl did not deter their efforts to help me.
I was rushed to the emergency vet to be stabilized, then the next day transferred to Natalie’s vet for medical treatment. I lost my left front leg, one toe nail on my right foot, two teeth and even had a broken jaw that was wired for eight weeks.
After two weeks of recuperation in a large cage, Natalie sat me down on the floor to see how I was going to manage. Much to her surprise I took off running up the stairs and to the top of a cat tree, which in my opinion is the perfectly normal thing for a cat to do. As you can see, I am not in any way handicapped.
After all the loving care I received, I’ve decided people are pretty good company and warm beds are much nicer than life on the street. I love to play, have a very mellow personality and enjoy scratches under my chin. Anytime someone walks by me I meow to be petted and I am a real purr machine. My fondest desire is to be adopted into a home and I promise to be a loving and devoted companion.
