My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MANNIX is a 8 month old neutered black male Lab that weighs 52 pounds. We are calling Brianna, Conner & Mannix the SHOE PUPPIES. I had a call from one of the shelters we work with who told me they had three 8 month old black pups surrendered to them. They've been through a lot in their short lives. They showed up as strays at a rescuers home, their ribs were showing and were extremely underweight. She was feeding them 3 times a day and they stayed in her garage at night as there was no room in the house. She notified animal control and the local vets then kept them a few days but no one showed up to get them so she turned them over to Animal Control. The rescuer had no way to confine them and they were scouring the neighborhood stealing shoes from people's front porches, the ACO counted 16 different shoes when he picked them up hence the name Shoe Puppies
They're all very sweet, easy going and dog friendly puppies who were good with other dogs at the shelter. He know some commands sit, and come is reported to be crate trained but pulls on leash so will need an easy walk harness. Mannix comes from a rural area so may not do well in a condo/townhouse/apartment or busy neighborhood. Mannix is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (4/3): Mannix is totally settled into his new foster home. He enjoyed a little early morning romp, some breakfast, and now it's nap time. He loves to snuggle with his foster brother! When Mannix is exhausted he has a cute little snore,

Update (4/1)! He went into his crate last night and slept all night long until his foster woke him at 6. He hasn’t had any accidents and has been a dream of a foster. He likes to play but he also ADORES a belly rub. He loves kids and has enjoyed every dog he has met. Mannix loves to take walks and smell the roses but is not really interested in taking a jog. This guy likes to play but likes to lounge after a play session.

Update (3/31): WOW! You can't get much sweeter than this pup. Mannix is a handsome 8 month old lab puppy. Mannix just arrived at his foster home and loved meeting the 2 resident dogs. He tried his best to get them to play with him but not much luck since they just wanted to play fetch. Next Mannix met a giant 110 pound lab friend who he finally got some playtime in. Mannix is a wonderful mix of playfulness and cuddle bug. He adored all the kids he met today and wanted to cuddle with anyone who would let him. Mannix will sit for treats and he is an absolute doll on walks using a size large EZ walk harness as he walked right next to me and even had a little lab lean on the walks. Mannix is very good on the leash but was definitely interested in a rabbit that crossed our path and some squirrels. Mannix learned quickly how to sit before eating and takes treats nicely. Mannix is working on not popping up to say hello but that is a tough lesson for a puppy who is very excited to meet you! Mannix went into his crate nicely, he slept soundly next to the two resident dogs. This pup is an absolute KEEPER!!!!

Update (3/30): Mannix has arrived! He is doing fabulously with the resident labs and loves to play! He's 8 months old, male and outrageously cute. He walks nicely on an easy walk harness. Has enjoyed every dog he's met and likes kiddos as well. We are already smitten!

Kids 10 and up as we don't have history. Good with other dogs shelter had them out with several with no problems. No cat history. Knows some commands sit, come. Will have training addendums. Haven't been on lead much will probably do better with an Easy Walk Harness. Reported as crate trained.
