My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for a very devoted and loving best friend ever....Redford is the pup you want to have around! Redford, at just about 12 - 18 months old and approximately 12 lbs, is initially a bit hesitant...then the most bonded and loving guy around. Redford enjoys his time with his foster mom so much that he joins her just about everywhere...a true best friend! Redford loves his people more than anything..he's a little lap-dog extraordinaire and derives so much joy from time spent with kind, dog-loving people. Redford also enjoys his relationships with doggie friends, but we don't feel that it's necessary for his happiness to have another dog in the home.
This adorable dog exudes love and loyalty...and it's catching! Redford's tough early life has left no visible scars on the personality of this devoted and sweet pup. He is a bit shy in certain situations, but a hug and some soft words of assurance and he gains his confidence. His bond to his favorite people leads us to believe that Redford would be happiest in a home where his family is present..being alone all day with people who work full-time out of the home wouldn't be a good fit for Redford. He will blossom with the time and attention that an involved family offers. Redford is also so portable at just about 12 - 15 lbs that he is able to accompany his family just about anywhere...be it under the seat on a plane or riding shotgun in the car, Redford is ready and willing. Watch out - before you know it, he's crept into your lap and snuggled up to spend some quality time. If you say the word walk ...or simply some play-time together...Redford is all over it....off he'll go in anticipation of not only an adventure, but an interaction with loving humans and their friendly and gentle dogs.
Redford has an amazing attitude for a dog from a scary, very high-kill shelter... but it was his great temperament and sweet energy that saved this beautiful dog's life and earned him a ticket to a new world in Colorado.
Redford would be very happy in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. A beginning positive reinforcement obedience group class will create additional family bonding as well as promoting great behavior and confidence.
Redford, having the curly (and therefore generally non-shedding) coat of the Poodle will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his golden-colored coat silky-soft and matt-free.

Redford will arrive on transport in Boulder on 4/3/15. If interested in this sweet and devoted (and often very comical) best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
