My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Sweetness and I am a male umbrella cockatoo who is around 12-15 years old. I can’t fly because I had a pin in my wing for almost ten years, then it began to poke through my skin, but thanks to Florida Parrot Rescue and all of their supporters who donated to help, the vet removed the pin because it was very uncomfortable and was opening an area that was prone to infection. I have recovered very well and will require no extra attention because of that. I have since returned to full on cockatoo mode!! I love to talk to you and tell you what I’m thinking. I will say "Hello Sweetness" every time I see you and I will also repeat a lot that you say. I really love when my foster parents spend all their time with me, but sometimes I just want to chew paper, like the newspaper they put on the bottom of my cage. I also get really excited when I have a new toy to destroy, so you have to make sure I always have lots of those. Of course I also love to eat, because, well, who doesn’t?? Most of all I love to cuddle and would let you hold me like a baby all day long! I would really love a new family of my own, but please do your research before considering a family member like me. I can live just as long as you but I will always be demanding of your time, so please make sure that is something you will able to offer. Please come meet me very soon, I love meeting new people!
