Inky's Story...
Oh, my goodness, we have the most delightful litter of puppies!! They were born 11/28/14 to a 15 pound wire haired Doxie that their foster mom rescued shortly before she gave birth so they have just turned four months old. They have had the best of care and are very happy, playful, loving and socialized. There were eight puppies total and they are all super cute and totally irresistible!

We think that dad may have been a Jack Russell or Fox Terrier since many of the pups have the most charming scruffy faces and fur. Maybe he was a Schnauzer. We really do not know but we bet he was really cute, like mom.

All of the puppies love to run and play with each other and with the other dogs of all sizes in their foster home. They adore toys and share beautifully. All of them love snuggles after a session of fun, and enjoy being held and carried. They are all comfortable with being touched and cuddled and really just cannot get enough of human love. They are all great with other dogs and would really enjoy being adopted into a home with a companion dog but would also be fine as an only dog.

The pups have had three sets of shots and have been dewormed. They will be spayed or neutered before adoption. The four remaining pups are doing wonderfully with their housetraining and are used to going out on the porch to use puppy pads. Since they are so young, they will, of course, need more potty training and training to a new routine in your home. They are all crate trained.

Inky is the snuggle bunny of the bunch. She is currently only 9 pounds and will be a petite adult. She looks most like a Schnauzer mix and has the BEST scruffy black fur that is just a little wiry on her face but so soft on her body. She has the most adorable little tuft of grey on her chin.

She loves to play but is a gentle little girl who is also content to amuse herself with toys and such if the others are being too rambunctious. (But she has her moments when she can play just as crazily as the rest!)

Inky adores cuddles and napping in your arms. She enjoys having fun but will often be found curled up in foster moms lap or in a comfy place having a peaceful snooze.

She has a submissive, sweet as warm apple pie nature and it is already obvious that she will grow into a very well mannered adult with the proper training since she likes to please and be a good girl.

Inky is just so precious you will fall in love with her instantly. She would be fine as an only dog since she is so peaceful but she would also make a great companion to another playful pup, either way will be fine with her.

Adoption donation $150.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Inky, a High Point Schnauzer (Standard)/Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard)/Dachshund for sale in High Point, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard)/Dachshund puppy from a breeder in High Point.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in High Point already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a High Point breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard)/Dachshund breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard)/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in High Point paves the way for another one to be saved.
