My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SEAN is such a dynamo and so full of energy! He is a delightful Carolina Dog mix with possibly boxer. Sean is three years old and weighs 47 pounds. He is so handsome with his beautiful brindle coat. His happy doggy face looks like he is smiling. He was found as a stray and never claimed. Luckily for him, our southern partner shelter saw the potential in this beautiful boy and he is now in a foster home waiting to come north.

Sean's southern rescuers tell us, "This dear dog has such a zest for life and he constantly inspires us and makes us smile. He adds so much to our days as volunteers! Sean has learned to walk on a leash and is a very enthusiastic walking companion! When he first came into adoption, we noticed he had not had much leash training. Sean would grab at your shoe as you were getting him out of the kennel and would pull hard on the leash. He is so much better now! Sean loves to be in the play yard, where he bounds about in total joy and has such fun with the toys. Sean would do well with obedience training and would probably be the star of an agility class. He is responding well to the daily time he spends with the shelter volunteers and staff (who are utterly devoted to him) and is eager to learn. He already knows the sit command. One of our dedicated staff members even takes him running! Due to his energy level, Sean would be best in a home without small children. He will be a great companion for an active family. He has been wonderful with some of our newer shelter dogs, acting as a mentor helping them adjust. Sean should be closely supervised when he is outside, since he can jump a fence. He is a good dog who just needs structure and attention."

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup Rescue, www.luckypuprescue.org, or request an application via email, luckypuprescue@yahoo.com.

Please note, we do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue!
