Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Booker. Booker is around one year old and a Bassett Hound mix. He entered the local high kill shelter and when his picture was posted, he had several “owners” who were going to come save him. Yet, he sat there for over two weeks and not one of the four individuals who stated he belonged to them came to break him free. We knew that we had to save him and make sure he found an owner who would truly love him and never leave him again.
Booker is a young guy and despite being tossed around so much at a young age, he is a loving guy who loves to be loved on. He is gets along great with his foster siblings (dogs, cats, and kids). He is very laid back and most days rather lie around then go exploring. Booker does have a somewhat special need. He can be hard of hearing. When we first got him, he would not pay attention if you said his name. He would just ignore you as if you had said nothing at all. We were afraid he was deaf. However, he has been to the vet and it was decide Booker is not completely deaf and does hear some things. Guess it could just be some of the hound stubbornness? Don’t let that you stop from giving this guy a home though, because he is so worth the enjoyment his goofy self will bring you.
Booker is heartworm negative, on monthly preventive, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. Please consider adopting Booker and giving him the home he deserves. His adoption fee is $450.
