Zinnia's Story...
Zinnia was turned into Shenandoah Animal Service Center as a stray. She is 12 years old and from the looks of her has had a rough life. Zinnia does not have an eyeball in one of her eyes. We don't know if it didn't grow or if some kind of trauma happened. She is pretty shy and scared even at her foster home but once you hold her and have her in your lap she is very sweet and she purrs. She likes to be petted once you are holding her and will pat you face with her little paws as if to say Thank you for caring. Zinnia would do best in a quiet home. She doesn't seem to really like the other cats or dog at her foster home but she just stays away from them for now. Zinnia had to be shaved down because of how matted she was in the shelter but her fur is growing back. We would love for Zinnia to live a happy life of ease from here on out. She seems very healthy and sturdy except for her initial uri from the shelter. Her senior blood panel came back normal for everything. Contact us today to meet her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zinnia, a Fredericksburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Fredericksburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Fredericksburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fredericksburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fredericksburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fredericksburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
