My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brownie, who turns 3 years old in May, has spent her life living in a back yard. Brownie and her sister were gifts to a little girl who really didn’t have time for dogs. Her sister found a new home a couple months ago and now Brownie has come to Houston hoping to find herself a family to love. She is 14 inches tall and a little chunky at 30 pounds, but is on a diet and loves to run and play, so should be down to 25 pounds soon.

After learning to use the dog door, Brownie would come in the house and immediately go to a kennel. It took her a couple days to feel comfortable being an inside dog, but she is right at home now! Surprisingly, Brownie has had excellent house manners and has never had an accident in the house. She loves being outside searching the trees for squirrels, but always finds a comfy spot on the couch or chair for mid day naps! Brownie plays well with her foster siblings. She can be a little loud when she wants to be included in a wrestling match, but is generally pretty quiet. She is gentle and easy going when playing with the puppy in the pack. She even takes time out to smile for the camera when she has a puppy climbing her back!

Brownie loves attention, but still uncomfortable sitting next to someone on a chair. It will take her time to learn to cuddle, but it will be worth the wait. She is such a happy, sweet girl that you will want the very best for her! Apply today to come and meet this wonderful beagle.
