My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peggy and Patti are 7 year old Dachshund sisters. They were rescued from a home in Tennessee where they were not properly taken care of and were left to live outside. They are very lovable, cuddly dogs who enjoy attention. Since moving inside they are doing well and love to cuddle on the couch although we think they would still do great with someone who has a large fenced in yard or who is willing to take them for walks.

Peggy and Patti needs someone who has time to spend with them! They are using potty pads but they need consistent potty breaks while they learn proper household etiquette. The only children they have been around were preteens so we would not recommend them to families with young children. Since we rescued them we have noticed they sometimes have anxiety which is understandable due to their previous situation when crated. As they are new to receiving attention they are can be hyper and we are doing some gentle training and correction as to not jump on everyone they meet. Patty has a dominant personality and tends to be bossy with her sister. Patty is also more active whereas Peggy is submissive and tends to be more intimidated of strangers.

They have both been spayed, are up to date on their vaccinations and are
heartworm negative. When we rescued them in December 2014 they were suffering from dental issues due to their poor diet in their previous home. Both girls had their teeth cleaned, Patty lost 3 teeth but she is doing fine without them. We have also noticed Peggy limps on her back left leg from time to time, mostly if
she is running, but it does not seem to hurt her. During her examination the
vet could not find anything wrong physically with her leg or back. He thinks she
might have had an injury in her past but cannot find anything now.
They are truly sweethearts. They just need to have a chance at a new life where they will receive the love and care they have always deserved. Peggy and Patty have a reduced adoption fee of 600$ (includes complete vetting and transport to your area) for the pair if we can find them a terrific forever home!
