Meet Lucy! This is her 3rd time to the shelter. Her owners were moving and and could no longer keep her. She came back to us on Nov. 5, 2016. She came back the 2nd time on March 26, 2014 because her owner had too many animals and could not keep her. Lucy is now about 5 year and 7 months old, housebroken, current on her vaccinations, good with dogs and kids. She is very interested in cats and would probably like to chase them! She walks great on her harness and would probably need a home with a secure fence, as hounds like to put their noses to the ground and sniff sniff sniff.. Lucy plays well with most other dogs and likes to be the alpha girl. Just a wonderful girl with lots of love and happiness to share. She will make a wonderful family pet if given a fair chance! Please come meet Lucy today and end her being shuffled around and let her have her happily ever after.

In order to adopt any of our "bully breeds" there is special paper work that will need to be collected and approved prior to the adoption. We love all of our dogs and want to make sure to place our "bully babies" in homes best suited for them.

Act quickly to adopt Lucy. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

About Carteret County Humane Society & Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit orginization relying on donations. We do have a contract witht the county to provide shelter for strays brought in. We have limited space but try to get our animals back to thier families and if that can not be accomplished we work hard on finding them new homes.
We do what we do because we love animals. We are realistic in in efforts, understand the problem and work towards educating the public on what needs to be done to prevent over population.
