Boxer's Story...
BOXER is an 8 ½ year old short-haired black and white tuxedo cat who deserves a second chance for a good home. He was adopted as a kitten about eight years ago and lived with his family until “allergies” appeared in the household, so back to the shelter he came.

Boxer was very unhappy for a while, and he just sat in his bed looking very sad. However, cats being resilient creatures, he has decided to make the best of his situation. Now he comes right out to explore and meet the other cats. He even has a girlfriend (sort of). He and Amber sit together on the cat tree – on separate shelves, of course. He is in a small room with only a few other cats, since he is used to being the only animal in the household. He is a sweet, gentle kitty who asks only for someone to love him.

Boxer has made himself at home in this small room, and is now the self-proclaimed King of the room. He struts around, yowls at his subjects, and perches on the highest level of the cat tree. This is all for show, and he is really a sweet kitty who can be picked up and cuddled (with permission, of course), and would probably be amenable to lap-cat duty.

Boxer is a handsome fellow, about 15 pounds, with a cute little white blaze, and fur which has dark brown highlights, rather than pure black. He is used to living with middle-sized kids. He eats a special prescription dry food (Hill’s c/d), due to some urinary issues in the past, although canned food can be his choice. We would love to find this guy a new home as soon as possible. If you have room on your sofa and in your heart for this big guy, come on over and meet him !!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boxer, a Milford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Milford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Milford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Milford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Milford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Milford paves the way for another one to be saved.
