My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Rascal. I am an 8-month-old neutered male Basenji/Chihuahua mix. I weigh about 13 pounds. I'm friendly and playful, just as you'd expect from a puppy my age! I'm also really sweet, happy and loving. I get along great with other dogs, and I love being around people. I'm a social butterfly! I also happen to be pretty adorable, with the cutest under bite you've ever seen!
It's not quite clear how I ended up at the pound. I wasn't neutered and I didn't have a microchip, but I did have clean white teeth. The staff at the shelter thinks that I probably had a home at one point, but that I got out of the yard and my owners didn't bother to come looking for me. It's a bummer for me, but it's their loss! They missed out on a really great dog, if I do say so myself. My friends at the shelter liked me so much that they brought me to an adoption event, where I got lots of attention. Despite my popularity though, nobody wanted to adopt me! That's when CageFree stepped in. They decided to make it their mission to find me a great forever family, one that will show me the love I've always deserved.
Since I am still a young dog, it would be great if my family were active and took me on adventures with them. Hiking, the beach, the dog park...it all sounds great to me!
