When we received a call from our local NJ animal control about a dog who was abandoned in horrible shape covered in wounds, we immediately made arrangements to get her to our vet and were horrified at the condition she was found in. She was likely a bait dog discarded after a fight- despite how weak she was and how much pain she was in she still wagged her tail at every person she met. She had a fever and has MULTIPLE open infected swollen wounds on 3 of her legs, plus huge gashes on her chest. She's hospitalized on IV fluids and antibiotics and will be having surgery once she's stable...she will be hospitalized for a while but once she's healed she will need a foster or forever home, or a rescue with space to take her in. "Isabelle" appears to be under a year old and a complete sweetheart, we are hopeful she will be able to recover from the horrible trauma she suffered. She has a long road ahead but she is worth it. PLEASE help us save her life and give her everything she needs to recover.
We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
