HennyPenny's Story...
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sacramento- HennyPenny is the sweetest, she is such a good mom. Her babies unfortunately did not make it (not a huge shock considering they didn't know she was pregnant and she was vaccinated and given medication to treat her pneumonia when at the shelter and none of those are good for babies). But she has taken on the role of mom to several orphan puppies.  She is 7 pounds (still has some milk) and is a little lap dog. She loves to snuggle (but can't jump up on the couch on her own). She is amazingly completely house trained and crate trained as well.  She is an easy girl and super amazing. I know she is going to make someone very happy! She is spayed, is up to date on vaccines (rabies, dhpp and bordetella) and is microchipped.  You can find our process and apply online at: http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoption-process/

Why Adoption is a Great Option

HennyPenny, a Sacramento Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
