My name is Monty. I am a 1-year-old neutered male Chihuahua/Pug mix, otherwise known as a Chug! I weigh about 15 pounds right now, but I’m told I need to trim down a bit. Don’t worry though, I’m on a diet. Regardless of my size, I’m one of the cutest dogs you’ve ever seen! Promise! I have a big goofy smile, a sweet sunny disposition, and a heart of gold. I’m very outgoing and friendly. I’ve never met a person or dog I didn’t like!
I arrived at a high-kill city shelter at the end of March. I’m not exactly sure how I ended up there, but all I know is I didn’t want to stay for long. It was loud and chaotic, and it got pretty cold at night. The staff noticed that I had some hair loss on the back of my neck, which was most likely caused by a collar that was too tight. Luckily, it didn’t cause me any pain and my hair is growing back just fine. Other than the mild hair loss, I have no physical ailments to speak of, and I’d be a great dog for any home.
Due to being overweight, I don't have a lot of stamina right now. Although, once I drop these pounds, I'm sure I'll be running all over the place just like every other puppy. So, an active family would probably be best for me. A family that will take me hiking, to the dog park, or play a lot of fetch with me to help me keep my weight down. Oh, you probably shouldn't allow me to have food all the time. I just can't help myself!
