In a word, Freida is FABULOUS! Meet sweet Frieda the “freedom” dog! She’s blissfully happy to be out of lock-up at an Atlanta city shelter, where for too many months she languished, lost and forgotten. Her life was spared because she was a shelter employee and volunteer favorite. You Lucky Dog Rescue stepped up to help her when a Foster agreed to take Freida in and be her bridge to a Forever Home. In one adventurous week, she evolved back into the loving, happy tail-wagging girl at her core. Freida holds no grudges. She has great house manners, prefers quietly sleeping in a dog bed (to a crate), dutifully goes outdoors to potty, runs zoomies in her fenced yard and is polite and playful with all the other dogs in the household. Freida is used to be around many other dogs. She’s an affectionate girl who lavishes hugs and kisses on her Fosters, their grandkids, and loves to have her tummy rubbed. She walks well on a leash and loves all the chew toys she’s found in her foster home. In fact, she’s so in love with the chew toys her daily routine is to carry every toy from the floor basket into the living room and place them in a circle around her. Then she moves from toy to toy, chewing endlessly. She readily sits for a treat, knows “down” and is working on other points of basic training. Freida is smart and eager to please, she will be a wonderful companion or family dog for that LUCKY someone who opens their heart and home to her.
Freida is a beautiful chocolate brown Labrador Retreiver / Pitbull mix, 2-years-old and 56 lbs. She’s solidly built with a glossy, lush chocolate brown coat, brown eyes, pink nose and mouth, white chest patch, 4 white socks and happy, wagging Labby otter tail and temperament.

Our adoption fee is $250 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
