Zion's Story...
Adoption fee on this dog is $100.

Zion is a handsome senior Belgian Malinois. We estimate him to be approximately 10 years old, but don't let his age fool you. Zion is still a spry ol' guy that leaps tables in a single bound and needs daily exercise to keep him happy. He was an unclaimed stray so nothing is known about his background.

Zion came into the shelter neutered and microchipped (although a dead-end chip.). He has clearly had some training as he knows his basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and has nice house manners. Hard to believe no one came to retrieve him.

Zion lives in a home with both male and female large dogs and gets along with all of them. He will occasionally play a little with the younger ones, but other than that, doesn't really want to be pestered by them. Zion rides nicely in the car and sleeps quietly in his crate at night.

Zion attaches very quickly to his people, and can be a little pushy asking for attention. He will go lie down on his bed when asked firmly and enforced. When getting attention he will grumble a little when other dogs approach, but corrects easily.

Zion is an amazing dog with a lot of love to give. He will be a great companion for the right family. He would like a home where he is included in daily activities and is given proper exercise and structure.

Cats and other small furry critters unknown.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zion, a Sacramento Belgian Malinois dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Belgian Malinois for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Belgian Malinois dog from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Belgian Malinois breeders who help with Belgian Malinois rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
