APET Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue located on Edwards, AFB in Southern California. We have been up an running since 2002 helping animals all over the Antelope Valley. Our rescue was originally opened to service our military members when they would deploy or PCS and could not take their pet(s) with them. Our rescue has expanded so much more than that and now services families throughout the Antelope Valley by educating and reducing the number of unwanted pets. We work work with other rescue groups, trainers, and local animal shelters on our common goal to reduce pet population and save the lives of animals.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Want to meet our pets? Our facility is open 7 days a week (minus holiday hours) to view our adoptable animals. If you do not have access to a military installation YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! Please call us at 661-258-9525 or email us firstname.lastname@example.org at least 48 hours from your planned arrival. We will try our best to accommodate, but we can set up an appointment time that works with both of us if not. We do have events off base often and usually post that on our Facebook page. In addition, we have approximately 6 cats at the Lancaster Petsmart on Valley Central Way at all times.
Our Adoption Process...
The first step in our adoption process is filling out a pre-screening form. If approved our adoption teams sets up a time/date for a home check and brings the animal with us. If all goes well you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee and the animal will begin it's 14 day trial period in your home! All adopters get 14 days to ensure the animal is the best match and everyone in the home humans and other furry companions are all happy. Should for some reason the new addition not be a good match (and withing this 14 day trial period) you simply bring them back and we will return your adoption fee.
Our adoption fees Dogs vary from $160 - $175 Cats vary from $110 - $130.
