Cookie*'s Story...
Check out Cookie! She is a sweet, beautiful, loyal, gentle girl ... and one smart Cookie! She is a 4 year old Border Collie Mix (maybe with some Golden Retriever) with unique and absolutely gorgeous red coloring. At 40 pounds, she is well trained -- no begging, no 'trash picking', no chewing on furniture or any other destructive behavior. Experience with the Border Collie breed would be ideal since she has strong herding instincts. She was originally rescued from a local shelter and the owner now does so much traveling that she does not have much time for Miss Cookie. She would like to find a home for Cookie where someone really wants to be her 'mom' or 'dad' and can give attention to a lovely little dog like Cookie. Cookie would thrive best with someone who really loves medium sized active dogs, loves to play with them and has the time to give her the love she so deserves. A family would be wonderful for her as would another dog. She is very gentle with children but tends to herd them so would be best with older children. She is quite a playful girl and thoroughly enjoys her vast assortment of toys. She loves to run and go on walks. You would need to have a large fenced area where she could run and play. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie*, a Denver Border Collie/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Golden Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Border Collie/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Golden Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
