Toffee's Story...
Toffee is super sweet girl. We think she might be a border collie mix and is estimated to be 2 years old. She is smaller than you might think by her pictures - and weighs just @ 30 pounds. Toffee LOVES meeting new people and is friendly with everyone she meets - human or dog! She is just one of those dogs that is easy going and social with a submissive nature. She is living in a foster home and working on her house-training skills an leash-walking skills. She is getting better all the time! She would make a wonderful companion and would certainly love the opportunity to have a family of her own. If you are interested in Toffee, please complete an online application at www.henricohumane.org to get started.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toffee, a Richmond Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
