My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Napoleon is a 2 year old French Bulldog mix. He is 44lbs but isn’t a very big dog, he is just a lot of mass, like most bulldogs, and could stand to loose a few pounds. He was named Napoleon because he is short and fat, sort of like the famous Frenchman.

Napoleon is the sweetest, kindest dog. He is timid and submissive but will perk up as he gets more comfortable. We don’t know anything about his background, but he was definitely abused and neglected. He has scars on his legs (probably from being tied up) and is very afraid of loud noises/raised voices. He is 100% house trained, walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. He loves to cuddle but he needs lots of assurance. If left alone, he will just retreat to his bed that is located in a spare bedroom.

The ideal home for Napoleon would be a relatively quiet household. If there are loud noises or if you use a loud or a threatening voice, he will cower and retreat to his bed. He would do well with a brother or sister but if there were too many pets, Napoleon won’t fight for attention, so ideally his future adopter would be able to focus most of their attention on him. I would say he has spurts of moderate energy, he will play with his foster brother, but overall he is a pretty lazy dog. He loves walks, but he wouldn’t be a good jogging partner. He does really well when left alone, he doesn’t chew on anything nor have accidents in the house. He would love to have a yard to sunbathe but he would also do really well in an apartment(he rarely barks). His foster mom works 8-10 hours a day and he hasn’t had a single accident in the house. He hasn’t been cat tested, but he is a super laid back dog, he doesn’t chase squirrels or show interest in wild life so he might do well around cats.

Napoleon has had a hard life, but you would never guess it from how loving he is to everyone. He is truly the sweetest dog. He will follow you around the house and sit near you if you pay attention to him. But if you are busy, he will take a nap while he waits for you. Napoleon is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and heartworm negative. If you are looking for a slightly lazy, slightly plump, forever companion with endless love to give, please consider Napoleon. To learn more about Napoleon, call his foster mom, Maureen, at 619-994-3682. To adopt Napoleon, visit bostonrescueofsc.org and fill out the adoption application. Napoleon's adoption fee is $175.
