My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Aaron. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. We know it's morning when Aaron's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love. This curious and really, really smart 18 month old, 10 lb Poodle/Bichon mix is a truly great companion as well as a lap dog extraordinaire. There aren't many visible signs (other than his initial shyness upon meeting new people) that Aaron was in a very scary high-kill shelter just about to face euthanasia. He can hang back or be a touch afraid in certain situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Aaron bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer.
We picture Aaron as the best friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will. There's also no question that Aaron would be the most popular guy on the block. Once comfortable, he loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self. Even though Aaron is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps a walk in the sunshine to socialize with neighbors, and mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans.. is important to this guy to keep him happy and well-behaved. it's not that he requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep him healthy and stimulated. Aaron is such an easy guy to bring along. You can just scoop him up and he'll lie happily in your arms. Or grab a backpack and Aaron will snuggle down for a long hike with a great view from above. Aaron derives so much joy from his relationships, we would love to see him in a family that often stays at home..or chooses to bring along a sweet and kind fuzzy family member. Aaron would shine in an office setting or in pretty much any situation where a sweet pup is accepted. Aaron is a great dog who deserves this love and consistency in his life.
Aaron's Texas foster mom had the following to say about lovebug Aaron:

Sweet and kind Aaron would be perfect for a retired couple or individual. He is a little timid at first but once I sat quietly with him, spoke gently about how much I loved him and gave him tons of belly rubs..he couldn't stop wagging his tail...it reminded me of a helicopter! All Aaron wants to make him happy is to sit or lie by my side (or on my lap) and follow me as I wander around the house (although, he does get tired of my wanderings and will lie down quietly in an available dog bed or couch). Aaron walks on a leash like a champ (perfect for an older individual) and likes to potty outside only. He's so respectful of my home and me that he would never consider having an accident or destroying anything in my house. Aaron sleeps on his bed (or my bed occasionally) in my room all night with no problems whatsoever. He's very careful to be quiet and never snores!
Aaron is such a sweet and kind boy! He just needs some love and attention. When he understands that he's well-loved and respected, his self-esteem will skyrocket and there won't be a better companion in the world!

This adorable and very, very loyal Poodle/Bichon mix is a non-shedding guy. This breed combination is also considered to be the most hypoallergenic available for those with allergy concerns. Aaron will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his stunning white hair cottony-soft and matt-free.

Aaron will arrive on transport in Boulder on 4/10/15.
