Dolly's Story...
Dolly is around 4 years old and was found pregnant in a trailer park in Lake Charles, LA She had 7 puppies while with us but 2 didn't make it. All are in the process of being placed in loving, forever homes. Dolly is almost finished heartworm treatment and will be ready for her very own forever home in May 2015. She is super sweet and loving and doesn't know a stranger. She is housetrained and walks well on a leash. Our adoption fee is $300 and the fee to transport to Putnam, CT is $185 using Rescue Road Trips. We check vet references and do home visits prior to an adoption. We require that our dogs be on monthly year round heartworm prevention. Dolly is in a foster home near New Orleans. Please email for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dolly, a Folsom Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Folsom, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Folsom.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Folsom already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Folsom breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Folsom paves the way for another one to be saved.
