These two babies came from a hoarder situation. Their owner lived in the country and regularly had dogs dumped on her property. She was an animal lover and tried to care for them the best she could. She fell, broke her hip and ended up in the hospital. The county came out and confiscated all the dogs. 5 1/2 weeks later she passed away. Her family came out to her property and these two came running out of the house. They were emaciated, dehydrated and Billie was so anemic they couldn't get enough blood to do a heartworm test. They were covered in fleas and terrified.
The owners name was Billie Charlene. The granddaughter and I decided that was a perfect combo of names for them.
Billie is a peke/pug/who knows what mix. Male, probably 8 lbs? Fully vetted, microchipped. He is between 3 and 5 yrs old.
Charlene is a Doxie?/beagle?/mutt?. She's probably 12 lbs. I haven't weighed them in awhile. Fully vetted, microchipped. She is btwn 3 and 5 yrs old.
I would have originally said they are a bonded pair, however it's been a long haul finding a home for them together. Together would be optimal. If we had someone interested in Charlene I think she might be ok to go somewhere with another dog. Billie might not do so great if he didn't have her and wasn't here with us. So realistically, it would be optimal for them to stay together. They should not be in a home with small children. It takes them a bit to trust men but they do once they realize they are ok.
$150 each or $250 together
