Keira Mae's Story...
Meet long-haired, green-eyed beauty Keira Mae! Let her stunning good looks catch your attention, then stay to get to know her sweet, playful, super cat-friendly personality…she just might be the perfect fit for your family! She has excellent litter box and scratching post manners and is very smart. Keira was born as a feral cat in a junkyard in October 2014 and spent the first few months of her life dirty, hungry, and bedraggled. She was rescued by Stray Cat Blues in March and has been living the good life in foster care ever since. Now she is ready to find her perfect forever family!

Looking for a friend for your current cat(s)? Keira is SUPER cat social—she adores cats and would absolutely love to have at least one feline sibling in her new home. Keira does not live with any dogs in foster care but did meet a small dog and was a little unsure but was never aggressive or too scared. She jumped up in the cat tree and watched from a safe distance, then a few minutes later moved to a lower section of the tree to get a closer look. She would likely do well with cat-friendly dogs.

Keira loves to play! Her favorite pastime is chasing the laser, but she also loves string, balls, and catnip toys. She adores interacting with humans in this way and will sit very cutely and quietly and give her foster mom a questioning look when she wants to play. She does also do well with solo play if her people cannot play with her right then, and she loves to wrestle with her feline foster siblings too. Because she was a stray cat for her first few months and did not get to meet any nice humans, Keira is not the biggest fan of being picked up, but she has made great progress in the month she has been in foster care and will certainly continue to build trust with her forever family.

Keira has truly flourished in just four weeks in foster care, showing her foster mom that she is absolutely ready to meet her forever family. She is super smart, having very quickly learned her name and the words for several different toys, and she would love to learn more. Playtime is an excellent way to bond with her, as she will jump all over her foster mom’s lap when they are playing, and she clearly enjoys being around her people. With a little patience, a lot of playtime, and a lot of love, this gorgeous girl will make her forever family VERY happy. And just think of all the photo opportunities with her model good looks!

This princess deserves her fairytale ending. Will it be with you? Keira sure hopes so and cannot wait to meet you!

Keira is spayed, litterbox trained, is up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keira Mae, a Colmar Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
