Branson's Story...
We sprung Cora from Chatham County Animal Control just in time. Overnight, she gave birth to 7 puppies, 4 girls and 3 boys. Mom is a Basset Hound mix, and she was surrendered to AC with 14 other canines, so daddy could possibly be another Basset, Cocker Spaniel, Chihuahua or something else. The pups are still developing so their actual heritage is a little hard to determine at this age.

The puppies will be available for adoption around May 7th. They will be spayed/neutered, current on shots and microchipped prior to adoption.

Adoption fees are $40 per feline and $150 per canine unless otherwise specified. Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Branson, a Savannah Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Savannah, or seeking a Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Savannah.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Savannah already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Savannah breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Savannah paves the way for another one to be saved.
