ypsy is a mix of German Shepherd and possibly Chow Chow (she has black on her tongue) although she looks more like a shepherd. She can be a bit shy at first but that doesn't last long.
She has a have a medical condition involving her pancreas that prevents her body from breaking down food and absorbing the nutrients. When she came in she was skin and bones and nothing we fed her helped her gain weight-she was slowly starving to death. A visit to Dr. Bader solved the mystery and she was started on PanaKare Plus powder which is added to her food, stirred in, and let set 15 minuets before feeding her. Since she has been on this and a no grain dry food she has gained weight and is healthy.
Gypsy and another shelter dog got into an altercation through a fence and Gypsy's lower jaw was ripped. It healed but the damage is visible (as seen in some of the pictures). It doesn't cause her any problems but she is a bit messy when she drinks.
She absolutely loves being outside and would make a great farm dog.
