My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog's fosterhome is located in: Norton, Kansas

This is Abbey GayL (aka Abbey Gay Lynn) and she is a LOVE! Abbey is a 5-year-old, sable and white girl who is about 14 pounds, with a bobbed tail and ears that stand up but have little crinkles on the sides so when they go down they fold out to the side. She adores lap sitting and when she is hugged, she will lean against her foster mom's chest and tuck her head under mom's chin. She really enjoys a nice brushing. This little dog is a true joy. Abbey was surrendered to a shelter when her owner moved. Since she is a cutie they tried her in a foster home, but she didn't like the resident dog and bit his ear. This raised concerns about dog aggression so she wasn't eligible for adoption but could go to rescue. Fortunately she got this chance because in her new fosterhome, after some little disagreements with some of the dogs in the first few days, things have gone very well. She may do a little posturing with other "alpha-type" females, but no fights have broken out since she got settled in "the pack." She plays well with non-dominant dogs, especially males. She isn't interested in cats but might chase one if it was running. Abbey is not tested with small children yet.

OUR ADOPTION FEE is $150 ($175 for puppies younger than 12 months; $200 for American Hairless Terriers).

IS THIS DOG AVAILABLE? If the bio above doesn't say that there's an adoption pending, then YES! he or she IS available. As soon as we approve an application, we'll post it, so you will NOT get more current info by emailing us to ask if the dog is available. To "get in line" to adopt or get more details, you MUST CLICK HERE to submit an Adoption Application.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS DOG?
The email address on this page is for website-related issues ONLY. For answers to specific questions about a particular dog, you MUST submit an Adoption Application! That is the only way to access the fosterparent for this particular dog, who is the only person who can answer specifics about this dog's personality or geographic location. (Our dogs are located in private fosterhomes around the state, and we do not provide those addresses on the Internet or to casual inquiries, and you cannot just "drop by" to see a dog without prearranging it with the fosterhome.) Because we are an all-volunteer organization and receive a very high volume of inquiries, we can only respond personally to people who have demonstrated a serious interest in adoption by filling out our application.
